The youth of the 1950′s spared the hardships of the World War 2 and sought excitement. Most of them found this in the Rock n Roll, which was newly emerging during that time.Lot of other people preferred the soft and mellow sounds of a ballad which was very popular during that time.

Overall the songs of the 1950′s were a mixture of sweet melody ,blues , ballads and Rock n Roll. Elvis Presley was among one of the best known names during this time. He made his first commercial recording session in Sun Studios and also made his first appearance on a radio program during this decade. Rock N Roll concerts gained a lot of popularity during this time and everyone started enjoying the feeling of freedom and power that this form of music gave them. Some of the best songs have been listed below.

1. I’m All Shook Up by Elvis Presley

This rocking song starts straight away with catchy lines that aptly blend with the tunes. The hip hop beat added with some great vocals from Elvis are the high points of the song.The song has an amazing feel to it and the lyrics are very meaningful.

This is a slow romantic song.This song takes you another world where only love exists. Tab Hunter’s voice is as clear as a daylight and adds a lot of vibrancy to the song. This song was super hit for a very long time and continues to be one of the best tracks so far in the romantic section.

This is a beautifully tuned track with top class lyrics. It has a fast and catchy tune and Jimmy Rodgers does a good job. This song has been shot perfectly in the album and is a visual treat.

This is a soft song and Elvis Presley sounds great. The song paints a picture of beautiful meadow with lots of sweet smelling and attractive flowers growing. The tune is pleasant and likable.

Pat Boone is impressive in this song and carries it on his firm shoulders. The music is pleasant and never goes overboard and maintains the tempo throughout. Pat’s honey dew sweet voice makes you sit and notice this song.

This is a beautiful track which appeals to almost everyone after the first hearing. The lyrics are wonderful and Sam Cooke lends his voice for this romantic happy song. He sounds melodious and at the same time gives the song the needed charm.

This is a foot tapping number. The song is a whirl of activity and colours. Ricky Nelson gives a dynamic performance in this fast,peppy and totally rocking track. This is a hot and sizzling remix of a slow song in the movie.

8.Kisses Sweeter than Wine by Jimmy Rodgers

This is a fantastic melody. It’s a slow and gentle song with soulful music and nice lyrics. The song has a very good classical piece which has been rendered very well by Jimmy Rodgers.

9.Bye Bye Love by Everly Brothers.

This is an enjoyable song with all the right elements for a pleasant hearing. This is a beautifully written song, well composed and Everly Brothers have done a brilliant job with their singing. It is a melodious track which will remain in listener’s memory for a long time.

10.Let Me Be Your Teddy Bear by Elvis Presley

This is a soft song. It has a slow tune and Elvis Presley impresses you with his beautiful rendition.The instruments used in the background are minimal and do not overpower the vocals. The music is mellifluous and the track grows on you after repeated listening.
