Ecuador is the land in South America. Considering that it is Republic bordering with Colombia, Peru, Pacific Ocean and with Chile, it can be concluded that music of Ecuador were influenced with music of these countries which surrounding it. But, most influences were from European people, mostly Spanish people who came from Europe and populate other countries in America.
With rich history, music of Ecuador can be divided on more genres. So, one of the important genre that influences on the Ecuador music is Pasillo, which comes from American music. But, also and European classical dances, has equally role in the Ecuador music. Bordered with more countries, the music of Ecuador could be separated on more rangers: Music of central Ecuador, Andean music and Music Costena.
Instruments that are most used and represent traditional instruments are cunuca, bombos, conuno and pingullo. All of these instruments are most used in the folk music, but they could be heard and in other genres.
Music of Ecuador is also known as Coastal music, because of the Pacific coast. This music is known for the amor fino, which is popular song. But, also interesting is and the fact that this music is one of the most accepted in Hispanic countries. Probably it is because of the Spanish and European people on developing of Ecuador music. Still, Ecuador music is not only based on tradition and influences of other countries. These days, young artist in music may express their talents with elements which are not based on traditional music. Beside Pasillo style, there are and other famous styles, such As Sanjuantio and others.
The most popular and listened groups and singers in the Ecuador music these days aer Caceria de Lagartos, La Grupa, Cruck en Karnak . But, beside them, there are and lots of other singers and musicians in Ecuador music, so some of them are: Caraqui Cristobal de, Carpio Flores Alfredo, Baquero Moncayo Cesar Humberto, Acosta Torres Jaimes , Echeverria Teran Pedro Pablo, Manzano Vea de Mora Norka Celeste, Najera Chiriboga Juan Manuel and others.
Most important role in the life of the people in Ecuador have and festivals which are organizing in August with the name San Antonio de Pichincha and famous in whole country. Other one, which is important for people in village and each village celebrating, is Roman Catholic Saint festival. These two festivals are important and only musical festivals in the Ecuador.
